In wartime, the most endangered species was man. Right under the Nazis' nose, about 300 people, mainly Jews, found shelter at the Warsaw Zoo during the Second World War.

In the lush Swiss countryside, single mom Judith is raising her young daughter Milla while running the family fish farm with the help of worker and friend Gabriel. The three live and labor quietly in their peaceful corner of the world. When the unexpected arrival of Gabriel’s brother threatens that tranquility, the specter of impending disaster casts a shadow over their pastoral life. When the devastation comes, it’s chilling. This taut thriller poses provocative questions about the weight of guilt, the complexity of forgiveness, and the price of redemption (56th Chicago International Film Festival).

With sounds and body memory, the ex-workers of the Ursus Factory re-enact one day of work in a plant that no longer exists.
The resulting symphony consists of the choreographed movements of the workers as well as of the technical, administrative and managerial staff, accompanied by the recreated phonosphere of the heavy industry.

ENG Marianna is an attractive 40-year-old woman. She once walked out on the people she loved. She sued her own parents. Does that sound like something you would do? What if it was the only way for you to change your birth certificate? Change your sex? Be yourself? Step by step, we are slowly drawn into Marianna's life in order to understand the difficult decisions she had to make. As it turns out, life wrote a new, completely unpredictable script for Marianna. The price of freedom and long-desired female identity turned out very high.

Dominic Ongwen was 9 years old when the Lord’s Resistance Army, led by Joseph Kony, abducted him from his parents’ house in Gulu, Uganda. He was tortured, brainwashed and forced to kill. He wasn’t rescued and he didn’t escape. Finally, after more than 30 years in the jungle he turned himself in. Accused of genocide and crimes against humanity he was transported to a detention centre of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. His case is currently being reviewed and it’s a precedent: Ongwen is the only child soldier ever indicted for war crimes. The film follows his defence team at the ICC during the trial and in Uganda as they are gathering material, evidence and witnesses. They want to find out what Ongwen went through in the bush and how it influenced him. For them, this case is much more than just another assignment.

'Gods of Mexico' is a feature documentary that looks into the past, present, and future of a world where countless possibilities of existence continue to resist in the shadow of modernization, against that kind of progress which - marching at its own pace - displaces any critical consideration on the direction and values to follow.

A massacre takes place in this city every day. A bomb explodes. A dismembered hand is thrown into someone’s garden, as a forewarning. At least four very different wars are being conducted – between Sunnites and Shiites, between drug cartels, between political parties, as well as between ordinary criminals and the police.

Siegfried Kapela was born in Zielona Góra, former Grünberg, just after WW II. His mother was German, his father Polish. Siegfried’s only goal was to escape from communist Poland and live in West Germany as a German. Unfortunately, the Iron Curtain was just lowered and Siegfried’s dream became his nightmare. 3 decades of passport denials, illegal border crossings, prison sentences, Stasi interrogations, establishing the Solidarity movement: all for nothing. Kapela’s escape, begun in 1961, ends only a year before the fall of the Berlin Wall, when he receives a passport for cooperation with communist security service. “The Great Escape” is a documentary about a man run over a soulless wheel of history.

'So far Dear America' is the 9th song on Dot To Dot, Cristofalo states. It's a memory of a moment I spent at the beach with my father when I was a little girl. Walking hand in hand on the shore looking at the sea and wondering what was beyond the horizon.
The video was made in New York by director Helmut Dosantos, during a few days off while we were on our tour in the USA. It was shot entirely on 16mm film with help from DOP Simon Liu.
